Today our 11 year old light tortoiseshell cat passed away at 5 AM this morning. We, my sister and I, believed that between 11 pm and before 5 AM she tried her best with the last of her strength to lay down between us from her makeshift bed that we had made full of pillows and blankets to make her comfortable and happy. We laid her gently down on the rug and all of us gave our blessings and told her how much we loved her before my step dad put her down to end her suffering and pain.
When we woke up a little later, our step dad had already buried her to the right of the peach tree near where our other babies were previously buried (and even my parents’ furry babies as well). He put a block of wood to mark where she was placed and my sister laid down a branch of three gardenia flowers next to the marker. Later on we brought Daisy, Sissy’s biological older sister, to mourn one last time. Daisy laid there for what seemed like an eternity.
